Ahmed Giwa in Washington, D.C.

Behind the lens

I photograph what makes a place feel alive.

I’m Ahmed Giwa, an environmentalist, photographer, and water and wastewater utility leader. More than twenty years of work and travel across North America, Europe, Africa, and the Middle East have shaped how I see people, places, infrastructure, and the environment.

Photography is how I slow down, observe, and preserve the moments and stories that stay with me.
